Digital Infrastructure! The New Workplace Is Not Hybrid!

Stop talking about The Hybrid Worker! Hybrid is a description used by people who can't entirely accept reality or change.

Over the last couple of years, the description of one's workers or the workplace has been defined by insecurity over reality. I have never been a fan of the term hybrid, as one describes the journey to the future.

The inability to accept reality causes one to shackle the legs of those traveling toward progress. We continue hearing organizations discussing the Hybrid worker instead of simply defining the worker as remote.

Today organizations must face the reality that many business processes can be accomplished in a remote world, not a hybrid world.

When leaders are unsure of the benefits of progress, they are easily swayed to focus on the benefits of what used to be. Unfortunately, what used to be, quickly becomes what holds one back.

Hybrid is more about what it used to be. Hybrid is an attempt to save something old over creating something new or simply going all in on what's new.

Those organizations who sell, supply, and service businesses are not too eager to accept that companies are no longer defined by the buildings they occupy - actually, they never were. Instead, today as in the past, a business is defined by its deliverable.

Product and service providers are simply part of the needed business processes for the business to deliver outcomes to its end-users.

Those who refuse to accept that all business processes are becoming more automated, allowing for faster outcomes, will fall behind.

It's time for all SMB to SMB providers to accept that it's not a hybrid workplace. It's a remote workplace. It's time to pay attention to the workers' processes, not the worker's office.

Those service providers who focus on the processes of the businesses they service will win against those who focus on the products needed for what they presume are still relevant processes.

Today's SMB to SMB providers must think - Digital Infrastructure! The digital infrastructure of the sellers and buyers must be cohesive to deliver exceptional experiences to both internal and external customers.

This digital infrastructure is where processes are enhanced and value is determined.

The future of businesses is now processes driven, not product-driven. The products are the tools, but unlike in the past, those who attempt to bring tools ahead of truly understanding processes will find themselves on the wrong side of progress or stuck in a hybrid status quo.

Status quo is the killer of all that will be invented.
